HUMANITY LIVING IN FEAR

“The fact is that today the biggest single emotion which dominates our lives is fear,” said U.S. News & World Report. “Never before has mankind been as fearful as at present.”
Many factors contribute to this global atmosphere of fear: violent crime, unemployment, economic instability because so many nations are hopelessly in debt, worldwide pollution of the environment, lack of strong and loving family ties, and the overwhelming feeling that mankind is in imminent danger of nuclear annihilation.
This poem was written to show that many, many persons are having a hard time coping with fear. Some are turning to drugs, alcohol, sex, anger, materialism and death, to cope. One man who was in the news in September 2011, set himself on fire and yelled “I am in debt.”

This poem shows the reality of fear today!

POEM - REACTING TO THE FEAR OF LIFE

People live more in fear today, for they think that the problems of life are here to stay.
More and more people don’t want to watch the news, they are not amused.
If someone told you six years ago that life would be severely strained, you would have put them on the next train, tell them that they are insane.
The economy was better and, there were plenty of jobs, now people feel that they have been seriously robbed.

Today things are very much different, people are so in fear they go off in an instant,
Where will things go from here? Will people have to always live in fear?
Children throughout the world are very sad today, their hope for a happy future permanently delayed.
Adults think that their life will end with things not being much better, so they live for the moment, doing whatever.

What if life as we know it can change for the better? Would you be willing to follow the instructions to the letter?
Would you be willing to love people of all races? You will then see people with happy faces.
Would you do away with greed? You will then see people never in serious need.
Would you be willing to do away with hate? You will not see people retaliate, because they can now relate.

Everyday people are losing their possessions, along with any affection.
People are angry and mad; they write the President to tell him that they lost all they had.
Where do we go from here? Will people have to always live in fear?
If life can change for the better, would you be willing to follow the instructions to the letter?

People are drinking more to cope with life’s problems, such drinking only leads to their sorrow,
Taking drug makes people not have to cope, sadly this leaves so many without hope.
Many of our children are resorting to all that is bad, one day they will see (when it is too late) that this fad has cost them more than all they had.
There are millions of people on earth who are happy every day; for they know that the badness now is not here to stay.
They know that very soon life will be better, because they are following the instructions for a better life to the letter.
